I was born in Iran and have lived and experienced various stripes of racism in several countries — a theme that is relevant to my second novel, Stolen Moments of Joy. I wrote his first novella, a fan fiction piece about the alien creature E.T. at age 12. I have a master’s degree in human rights. A painter and classical pianist, I now live in the Washington, DC, metropolitan area.
